JACK SPURLOCK

JACK SPURLOCK
,
(Trombone)
Like most outstanding musicians, Jack began his studies young — when he was three years old. In his early years in Los Angeles, he joined the Ray Coniff Orchestra, then worked with the great swing bands of Stan Kenton, Ray Anthony, Harry James, Jerry Gray, Bob Crosby, and Les Brown. As a side man in demand with other bands before he joined the Big Band Alumni, he backed such notables as Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Eddie Fisher and Keely Smith. He was also picked to conduct for Sammy Davis, Jr.
