JOHN FICK (Trumpet)
Another of Alumni Band’s long-time regulars and frequent soloist, John also leads a combo of his own: The Southern California Jazz Company. During the heyday of the swing bands, John was a featured side man with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Alvino Rey and Guy Lombardo orchestras and has played with the Benny Goodman Orchestra, the Harry James Orchestra and the Glenn Miller Tribute Orchestra. He has backed name vocalists including Jack Jones, Helen O’Connell, the Mills Brothers, Barbara McNair, Buddy Greco, Frankie Lame, Giselle McKenzie, and the Modernaires.
John has been with the Alumni since we initially started and is a great addition to any musical organization. When he's doing a solo, people listen!
